Life Is a Song, Let's Sing It Together—LM! Devlog #5

OUR UPDATED DEMO IS LIVE!

It's amazing to me how we first announced this project almost a year ago (363 days, to be precise) and how it's grown into something this lovely and beautiful! Our updated demo has many additional features that I'm so excited to showcase:

  1. Fully redrawn sprites
  2. Updated backgrounds
  3. Customizable hair color
  4. In-game and in-line glossary
  5. Certain extra choices

Our new sprites, drawn by the ever-talented Skai, have breathed new life into our characters. Complete with expressions and even updated outfits (in the case of Gilda). In conjunction with our background artist's lively works, I think it brings a feel to Let's Misbehave that's both in honor of its (almost) antique sensibilities but has an exciting, vibrant quality to make the tale feel as fresh as it can be.

Speaking of Gilda, you can now pick a hair color for her! In line with the popular stars of the silver screen, your very own Gilda can have jet-black hair like Louise Brooks, brunette hair that would've picked up so well on orthochromatic film (not unlike Mary Pickford), red hair like the It Girl of her era, Clara Bow or platinum blonde as an homage to Jean Harlow! Let us know which one your favorite hair colour of hers is!

The game also now has a glossary, which can be pulled up at any time from the menu! Words that win an entry into the glossary are also highlighted in the text and can be clicked to open up the glossary, but you can go ahead and browse through it at any time as well. We're determined to have you slingin' the slang as good as Elsie by the end of this game, yes we are!

I sincerely hope that you get the chance to go through all of these features and visit Concordia once again! It doesn't feel like a lot has been done but there's almost a whole new game behind the scenes—to me, at least! The good news is that the groundwork for each route has been set, and we're well on our way in working through it! The team and I are so excited to be able to bring to you more of this world we've lovingly created, and hope you'll enjoy the final result as much as we do!
